Make sure your photographer takes several test shots first so you can check out the lighting, etc. etc. Your photographer may opt to use a tripod or not. There are photographers who actually prefer moving around, even when shooting a portrait photography session with a family.
In a nutshell, the best accessory if you are having your family together for a portrait photography session is a big, cheery smile.
